Woman Wednesday: Phoebe Evans
I moved to Chicago hoping to expand my network of humans. Ultimate is a great way to do that because it's people with all sorts of backgrounds coming together. So, I joined a team and met Phoebe. Phoebe recently turned her thesis, @gumdrop_massage, into reality and launched a kick-starter. It's an adorable, portable, and versatile massage product...oh and it's a woman-invented, woman-owned small business! Make sure to check out the kickstarter HERE!

"I love when people underestimate me. As a woman in STEM it happens all the time, but even growing up classmates in my advanced math classes would say that math was a “boy subject.” I was never particularly good at any of the “girl subjects”—whatever those are—so I just kept working hard to beat them.

A positive attitude and a competitive spirit have lead me to a job I love as a mechanical engineer and allowed me to continue pursuing projects on the side that give me a more creative outlet. On the side, I am the co-founder of a small business that sells a product I designed, which has been a really exciting adventure.
