Meg & Jake: Chicago History Museum Wedding
Meg reached out to me over Instagram and I immediately knew it was a planning match in heaven. We met at Hampton Social in Chicago, chatted about life, laughed about the St. Louis Cardinals, and even DM’d about ridiculous Bachelor moments afterwards. During the whole process, I never felt more excited for the big day because I knew just how wonderfully this event was planned. I couldn’t wait to see all the plans unfold.
The day before the January wedding, there was some snow, and in typical Chicago fashion O’Hare delayed and cancelled flights. The morning of the wedding, I get an email from Meg saying she has already re-configured the seating chart and that she actually liked it better than the original! Again, if this isn’t already an indicator of how amazing she is, and positive even amidst all of this, then let me tell you, the smile never left her face. So we were off!
Jake’s father has a fleet of amazing luxury cars that the wedding party took over the the Chicago History Museum after first looks and wedding party photos at the Waldorf Astoria. Hi, yes, they look like movie stars, old Hollywood glamour, it’s amazing. When we arrived, we got the kids situated with flower petals, boutonnieres were pinned, and last minute vow practicing. During a heartfelt ceremony, Jake cried, and you know we love a good ceremony tear wipe. They’re really such a wonderful pair.
The night was then met with speeches that made you laugh and family dances that were choreographed and brought the whole crew to the dance floor. Meg and Jake, I couldn’t stop smiling seeing how happy you both were. Your day was one of a kind gorgeous and I hope you and the floofs are enjoying this extended honeymoon during quarantine.
