Janissa & Tom: Ovation Chicago Wedding

Ovation Chicago Wedding | Your Day by MK | Chicago Wedding Planner

Janissa and Tom are not afraid of color. They’re not afraid of exclaiming their love to the world. They’re not afraid of vibrant flavors and traditions. For that I am so grateful. Their wedding was one of the most exciting of the year. From champagne popping to cigars with the crew, their wedding day was insanely lively.

Janissa and her crew started the foggy day at The Gwen in Chicago. The most thought out details and branding set the tone for the rest of the day, everything was going to be on-point. After the trolley dropped off the fellas at The Wrigley Building, it grabbed the ladies and we prepped Janissa and Tom for their first look. This was one of the few first looks that included cheers from their wedding party, which was perfect for them. Immediate cheers and they were off to Lincoln Park for some more photos while we prepped their reception space - Ovation.

Flor del Monte’s palate is indescribable - it was bright yet subdued. It was perfect for an October wedding, but it didn’t scream FALL. The florals used were a step away from solely roses and the single bud vases for the reception were perfect for an intimate yet beautiful set-up. They had a confetti send off at the end of their ceremony and a Mariachi band greeted them at the end of the aisle. The evening was going to be fun from the get-go.

Guests toasted and cheered, salsa danced, sang along with the music, tacos for a mid-evening snack, and cigars with the boys. There is no friendlier crew than this one and I can’t believe their wedding day is over. Janissa and Tom - thank you for including me in such a fun day!
