Hi world, meet Mia! She accepts me even though I know shit about EDM music and has been one of the most genuinely herself, people i've ever met. I've always thought her to be someone I can look up to and be straight-forward with me and thus, she was a no-brainer when I thought of this series. This is what this #womanwednesday had to say

"I love podcasts, the news, politics, and empowering the historically disenfranchised. The last five years have been an exercise in self-love. Beginning with trying to find the beauty in all parts of my identity: woman, mixed-race, student, daughter, teacher, friend. I have also learned to let the injustices of the world motivate me to be an agent for change rather than an overwhelmed bystander.

I'm almost one month into my second year of teaching (5th grade Science and Social Studies), and my students are bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. They are excited to explore the past, think critically about how it relates to the present, and to be hopeful for the future.

I find my strength and motivation in many people: my students, my family, my friends, the world, and myself."
